WOW!!
This class is really pushing me..... A LOT!
I'm not the most computer savvy person there is and I really am challenged. Wednesday we got our assignments for a class presentation. I am excited about this....I get to do a presentation on a app call
"AudioBoo". It's an awesome new program that can be really useful in the class room. My partner is a girl named Sara, which I find really neat....My best friend is Sarah. Different spelling, but close enough. Sara says she doesn't know that much about computers, but I think she knows more than she really realizes. :)
AudioBoo is a new program that will utilize phones some students have; iPhone and Driods.(some nokia phones as well)
It is a really cool new way of teaching students that will keep their attention. They can add the app to their phone, for free, and be able to do homework. This would be an awesome tool to use in math: the teacher would post a problem on AudioBoo and then you would hear how to solve the problem. The same thing would work with English Lit. You could post a scene from a story you are reading and then play the matching audio with it.
I think aduioBoo would be extremely useful with bands. I plan on using this in my program. I will photocopy a page of the music they are working on and record their instrument playing it. This will be very beneficial to struggling players; they will be able to focus on their part alone, they will have a better chance of success.
My partner Sarah and I have really come along on our presentation we are preparing. I feel this has truly been a team effort. We have added our own touch to the presentation, I feel that will help us be more at ease; it's something we like so we will be comfortable teaching it. We are still working out a "kinks" but I am not worried. We really get along, she is really into this project also. I feel the more we do the more I am actually learning..I'm starting to get more confidence in what I am doing!!!!
AudiBoo has the potential to be an awesome teaching aide for students who might be having a hard time keeping up in class. This out of class way of learning has the potential to change some lives.
Most people do have am iPod or smart phone, or access to one. And if they don't there is an app they can use on the Internet as well. I wish/hope school will take this new way of learning serious, it could really help some potentially "left behind" students
